| Radio-controlled cars, or RC trucks as they are generally referred to, are a fun way of spending time both for kids and adult people. Their work is based on the remote control system. One more kind of remote control cars is wire connection ones, but radio-controlled trucks are more popular. RC trucks are generally divided in two groups: toy model trucks designed for children and hobby-grade version which is designated for teenagers and adult people.
These 2 versions of radio controlled trucks differ, but still have something in common. They both constitute copies of real-life vehicles and are controlled through radio control. But there are some distinctive features of these two versions. First of all, a toy version is a solid plastic representation of the truck while the hobby-grade variant is very close to a real life car in terms of looks and individual parts. The hobby-grade cars are constructed in the same manner like a real-life car. What's more, this model requires the same maintenance and service like you are the owner of a normal car.
There are different methods of powering hobby-grade RC trucks. They can be electric, fuel or nitro powered. Making a decision which one to take is not that easy. All the variants have their pros and cons that should be weighed up. For example, an electric powered radio-controlled car will be lighter that a fuel run one, but the last will be faster than the first one. Anyhow, these trucks are so intricate, that any enthusiast will be able to transform his electric truck into a petrol one, or vice versa, with no particular efforts.
What is so particular about hobby-grade radio-controlled trucks that draws attention of thousands of men of all ages to them? Basically, it's their intricacy. It is not a toy, it's actually a real-life vehicle, but very small. What's more, these radio controlled cars can be used for racing and what man would refuse to be a racer? It is much funnier than computer games, that's the reason why radio controlled trucks are so attractive to adults.
Obviously, radio controlled trucks are a wonderful way of spending time. But still note that it will require a lot of maintenance, repair and upgrading. So this hobby is quite expensive, but it is a truly unforgettable experience. |
